To help your school set standards of use and to foster an attitude of care and respect for equipment at the CLC we suggest that the following Acceptable Use Policy forms are adapted by your school and distributed to pupils, teachers and parents.

These forms help to:

• Provide rules that are consistent with the acceptable procedures commonly used on the Internet.
• Allow all users to access and use the Internet for educational purposes. This includes electronic mail, newsgroup and web facilities. The school activities cover individual research, preparation of lessons, project work, homework and communicating with other teachers or pupils.
• Provide a mechanism by which staff and pupils are protected from sites, information, and individuals that would undermine the school ethos.
• Provide rules that are consistent and in agreement with the Data Protection Act.
